at that stage of leaf growth ... think of a hosta leaf as a butterfly emerging from the cocoon ... pumping liquids into its wings.. to pump them up ...

your green leaf.. is growing faster than the roots can process enough water ... to make the leaf turgid... full of water ...

it will all catch up inside a week or two ...

IMHO ... this is not a virus issue in any shape or form ... at this stage of emergence .... so dont get yourself all wound up ...

a virus or some such.. will show on a fully emerged leaf ...later in the season ... not this babe ... at this time ...

secondly ... 'corrugation' .. bumpiness is genetic.. and a sign of maturity on many hosta ...
