New Hostas from LOTG

I just got my new hostas from Land of the Giants, top quality larger plants, very nice roots. See the yard stick.
LOL, as suggested here, I placed them on the driveway.

I bought some classical cultivars, some will be very large in a few years :

Alex Summers, Elatior (the one without a tag), Golden Sculpture, Frosted Jade, Final Summation, Hollywood Lights, Gentle Giant, Choo Choo Train.

They will get potted today, then will get planted some other day at leisure. They will be protected better from summer heat when they are in pots.

Very nice plants! I have seen a very large Elatior growing in a garden near me and it was VERY impressive! I need to get that one too.

Don, mini-garden? I potted those up after I had their roots in water for 2 days. I have another 5 in pots for later planting. Then I have all those seedlings, which are my minis, which I have to find places for. Usually in August after the heat is over I will be planting, by then I also have figured out which streaker seedlings I will keep and which to give to a hosta society sale.
.... But then, I might do it earlier....

Wow, those are great root systems! Alex Summers is the only one I've had for several years. It's not all that big, but very pretty, think you'll like it.

I have my own mini garden, figured if I planted them and went to the hosta convention they wouldn't get watered. At least in a group of pots they're easy to take care of.

Take a good look now. They probably won't be this big again for three years. Mine aren't.
