"Accidental" grouping has the wow factor...

Have you ever grouped two hosta, not really thinking about it, and then you realize that you did something amazing? I was taking pics this morning and this spot is where the older garden meets the new strip. Here's a pic of Stained Glass in the older area:

And here's Seducer in the newer strip:

When I placed Seducer, of course, I thought about what was around it, no plunking hostas in willy-nilly! I knew it looked good near Stained Glass, but I was really looking at this area from a totally different angle and Stained Glass wasn't considered other than they blended nicely. It never dawned on me that Seducer looks a whole lot (to the eye, at least) like a reversal of Stained Glass. Didn't even notice it when I was out taking the pics. But when I came in to review the pics, it leaped out at me:

When Seducer gets a chance to fill in a bit more, this grouping will be something else, I think! and all because the older garden met the new right here...

There you go, Funn! A moment of awareness that is a delight. A serendipitous discovery.

You say it so well, and that was what I wanted to say when I placed June with Teatime, and then Jo mentioned English Sunrise for the threesome. Voila, I have my Three Graces.

I love the combination. Your Stained Glass is coming on strong, and in another year, Seducer should be beefing up too.

I love it when that happens! I think Seducer is the dark horse of hostas. It's going to be HOTY one day! It ranks right up there with Liberty, IMHO.

I love how bright your hostas are. We haven't seen much sun or warm days yet. I think actually only two warm days so far this spring.

Nice, looks like Fall even down to the huchera (?) which looks for all the world like dead leaves, to me anyway.

Jon, dead leaves? LOL, I can see why some of the caramel heucheras would look that way in a pic, but have you seen heucheras in person? There is definitely a richness to them that is hard to translate through a camera. Or maybe not...

Sorry off topic, guys, but couldn't let my Heuchies be thrown under the bus without presenting other evidence!

It was not intended as a slight. I still say that one looks like...ummmm....uuuuuuh.....well.....Fall to me, in that picture, especially with the pumpkin looking hosta. .

Another one for you Jon that can remind you of winter called Snow Angel . It is my favorite of them all. Nice arrangement

Nice Fay,

I haven't had any luck with heucheras. I have tried some down in back at the Gully which is a tough spot for soil, watering and pests.
