WOW! I thought we gave our vote for 2012 just 3 months ago for Liberty. Why now for 2013 already? What happened to 2011? How can someone predict hosta prices 3 years from now and select what he/she will like in 3 years?

This is just the beginning of a year long process. Over 80 retailers and wholesalers will submit three nominees. It will then be reduced by picking from a final 20 then a final 10 and then a final three and then H.O.Y..This is a democratic process that narrows down the nominees over a period of a year. It then takes two more years to grow the winner to a sellable size from tissue culture.
I hope this explains the process a little better.
