Brother Stefan and his Step Brother

The picture uploaded here is my Brother Stefan, and an eye he put out this spring. Looks like it could be a sport to me. How do you see it?

Anyway, I was checking for sports from Brother Stefan, and discovered only one, called Step Brother. On MYHOSTAS.BE it is "gg" for color. I think that means it is green with a green margin? However, there is no picture of it in HLibrary.

Does anyone grow Step Brother? Can you please share a picture of it, so I can call this new eye something? And I'm thinking it is an easy one to separate.

That makes two greenies I think are sports. (Masquerade had a green sport too).

i think GG would just mean.. solid green ...'

you seem to imply its green with a green edge.. which is possible.. but i dont see it on your plant ...

i am talking about the two letter system ... not you ...

does step brother have its own myhosta page??? ... or no way to find out.. since it isnt listed at the library????

Ken, it has its own ENTRY in the MYHOSTAS.BE site. I discovered it from the Brother Stefan page, where the progeny are shown.

Step Brother is listed there, no others. So when my Brother Stefan produced this eye which is solid green, I was wondering if what I have is known as Step Brother. The "gg" is used at the MYHOSTAS.BE site and I assumed it meant an all green sport of a hosta with colored margins....(i.e., Brother Stefan).

I kind of like having my hosta multiply this way! :)
