Hello-I've missed you all

Hi Everyone-
I'm indymom76 and I've posted on and off of here for the past few years and thought I'd come and take a look at all of the splendor that is going on on this fine site. Unfortunately, this year I'm not buying any host (please, no throwing things at me!!!) For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to go back to grad school and get my nursing education degree. We also became foster parents recently, so life is pretty hectic. I'm going to concentrate on killing off ground cover this year and have a blank slate to work with in a year or so. We also lost a few trees to storms this spring, so my sunlight is all different. So, I just wanted to say hi, I love looking at all of your pictures and I am going to try to post a few-my liberty is breathtaking this year! Happy gardening everyone!!

Hi, Jeanette, that is some program to get your nursing degree, so maybe put in a couple of hosta to sit around (in all your "idle" time) and think about how nice to have them waiting and mature when you are done. Unless you are obsessive like some of us, myself included, hosta are a no-brainer plant. They know what to do in the absence of adult supervision. Turn em loose, let em do it, while you get that degree to make more money to buy more hosta!

Sounds like a plan to me.

We also lost a few trees to storms this spring, so my sunlight is all different.

Yep, I know what that's like except I lost mine to extreme weather in autumn 2011 (the worst being 11 days w/o power).

Like you I'm not buying any hostas this year--my designer/named hostas are all large enough to be divided and I've got plans to divide quite a few of them.

Also, my Liberty is amazing this year. I've waited 5+ years for it to show off and am thrilled to finally see it do so. It's the central anchor in a curved bed under my crabapple tree. I've got pics on my digital camera but am not currently able to post pics. Trust me I'm working on getting there!
