Sagae, clausa and others

Here is a 15 year old clausa and a sagae. They are both about 4 feet across I am estimating. I am always amazed at how tall our clausa is.......sagae is a given. John is 6 and helping grandma weed, prune limbs and earn a little money. He has a great work ethic already!!

Both of these hostas have been shared with others many times. I haven't split them for about 5 to 7 years.

Oh my how I love to see mature hostas, grown in the ground. What magnificent specimens you have there...and I really like your smiling little helper who is much more fun to see than a yardstick for a size measurement.

My word, like you say Sagae is a given, but the clausa is a huge surprise. I will think about the benefit of putting mine in the ground when I have a chance.

How neat to have a new generation of gardeners growing up with hosta. I'd love to have that opportunity myself, but my son had no children, and DH's grandkids are all older. You are doubly blessed with hosta and grandkids.
