The Frosts Keep Coming

Tonight ... frost warning again. It is hard to complain since average last frost here in this part of the Ottawa Valley is around May 20 but dangitall ... we are getting close!

All my hostas are accounted for with pips showing. I didn't lose a single one and appear to have a volunteer seedling or two. However it is early going yet. Surprisingly, H. Remember Me is the only one unfurled with all the rest as either pips or just beginning to unfurl. I don't recall Remember Me as being so early last year but have noticed that Autumn Frost, Blue Ivory and June have all begun to unfurl ahead of the rest. Is there something genetic about these that leads to an early start?
