Two streaked seedlings

My hostas are coming out. I was surprised to see two streaked seedlings show up looking so much more evenly streaked than they were last year. They are from free seeds sent to me by Jeff Miller of Land of the Giants at the end of 2011, planted a year later. Both seedlings are now in their second year. Seeds were open pollinated, probably selfed with the help of bees.
The following one is a 2 year old seedling of hosta 'Dorothy Benedict'. I like the round leaf shape.

Great streaking on those two, Bernd. The best way to get streakers is to grow them yourself. Great work.

Yes, this time of the year, everywhere fresh hostas unfolding in a still cool climate, puts a lot of big smiles in my face. It is good to be a hosta gardener!

Yeah,really nice Bernd! My one I got from Ken is not that streaked,yet,but the season is young. I look for it to get better,as the season progresses. I love streakers,even if I don't have many of them. Too bad they tend to stabilize. Phil
