Promised I would tell - My BIG 3!

Well, I have decided which 3 large hostas I am going to use to anchor the new hosta bed. If you didn't catch the original post, I am planning on placing 3 very large solid-colored hostas in the back corner of the new bed, 1 green, 1 yellow and 1 blue. Here's the sketch:

and here's my choices:

Mikado (green)
Big Fella (blue)
Krugerrand (yellow)

Mikado will be in the center (I originally wanted the yellow in the center, but decided if anything would be partially blocked from view, I wanted it to be the green!) and it is slightly larger than the other two, being 40 x 55. The other two are about 30 inches tall, give or take.

Looking forward to putting these guys in the ground and seeing the fruits of my labor! Thanks, everyone for all of the ideas for this.

Funn, I'm glad you made a decision. I'm not familiar with Mikado and Big Fella, but will look them up.

I'm looking forward to photos.

You'll love Krugerrand. He takes patience, but he's worth the wait. I've had him since 2008, I think....

Last year, he was just under 4' wide, vase shaped and leaves bigger than dinner plates.

Wow Melissa that grouping is fab, Krugerrand just zings. I want to get it but am having no luck with my usual dealers at the mo. I want it all the more now.

Fun, I hadn't come across Mikado before she looks great, have you got a pic of Big Fella? He isn't in the library and from a quick google can't find a pic. Best of luck with your project.

Beautiful colors there, Melissa. It only takes one big gold to anchor all the blues.

I haven't heard of those hostas, either. It is great to learn of new ones. Melissa your garden looks great - I love the combinations. What is the hosta on the far right? Oh what the heck - what are all of them?

WOW Mikado is a monster!! Do you have small dogs or cats? 'Cause if they go missing, Mikado would be the first place I'd look. Take a machete and a cutting torch with you. Don't go alone, take a couple people you trust who can handle firearms. While you're in there with the machete, please cut me a division. I'll pay postage AND cost of labor. ; > P

Wonderful group. I will have to look up the blue and the green also.
