Driveway Garden

Some will remember me posting that I planted on top of an old gravel driveway by sitting the plants on top of the limestone gravel and filling around with mulch. This is a photo 05-08 of that area. Same area showing the Dwarf SolomonÂs Seal around my small June sport.

I've been doing it for 17 years now without any problems. I taper the soil down from the trunk so it's not right on it. Every year I add compost around the bushes and hostas. The trees don't seem to mind. I have the Maples, Dogwoods, Redbuds and Tulip Poplars.

Dwarf??? Never heard of it....but it sure is cute!!
I have the tall varigated SS....but dwarf? How cute is that!

It grows about 8" tall and it is really cute, don't remember where I got it but it was just a start. Looks better with larger hosta.

Nice driveway bed, Butch. Are you going to rearrange to give the growing plants more room, or let them continue in close abundance?
