Brother Stefan came up with streaks - is this concerning or just

This big guy was planted last fall as Brother Stefan.
This spring, some, but not all, of his leaves are showing this streaking pattern.
Should I be concerned that this could be a virus or disease?

Or do you think it's just a random mutation?

(oh, and yes, I realize that he is going to need more room! I ended up buying a lot of hostas last minute in the fall and temporarily put them in the ground just to get them through winter)

Hostas, by nature, are very unstable. That's probably why there are over 6,000 varieties. When they change its called "sporting". Your Brother Stefan may be sporting or the difference in the color may be a fluke this season because of the crazy weather.

My Captain Kirk has done something similar.

No need to worry.

What Gesila said! The streaks may,or may not come back next year. I have Gold Standards that do some of that every year,but I do have two that I did separate and they are growing as different plants in my garden. Phil
