Odd white streaking on hosta

Hi folks. I'm a bit stumped about something I noticed on one of my hostas. I've had this plant for ten years and have never seen it do this. Two of the leaves on the plant have a white streak down the middle of the leaf, and I don't know if I should worry that there is a problem or if it's just a response to the hard winter or something simple like that.

I don't actually know the type of the hosta, only that it was a bleached and crisped version of itself when I moved in to my previous residence. I relocated it to a shady spot and it seemed happy. I brought it with me to my new home when I moved, and it has settled in well over the past year and a half. Maybe the white streaks are its way of saying "yay?"

Hostas are unstable. That is why we get so many sports. They don't always come back that way next year. You don't have a problem, you just might be developing a sport, which is a fun thing. It appears to me that you have h. Gold Standard, which has a gazillion sports that are registered at the Hosta Library.

My gold standard does this on a leaf or two every year...and with mine, it is completely random and doesn't occur on the same eyes as the year before. Since it is pod sterile, I just let it be to be whatever it wants :) I provided you with a partial quick reference of sports.

Thanks everyone, I was hoping it was just something like that. I guess it's easy to be paranoid about anything strange on a hosta with the virus problems they can have.

Speaking of which, any opinion about the markings on this leaf? It's another one I have no name for, just picked it up today from someone giving away their landscaping to anyone willing to dig it up. I found three of these choked under some serious ivy groundcover and want to be sure it's safe before I plant them tomorrow. This is the only leaf between the three that looks like this:

Yeah that is common on Gold Standards. I have two sports that I have been growing for a number of years and are separated. I have another this year,but it is deep inside the plant,so I will leave it alone. Yeah,Ken,Gold Standard is the mother of many sports. Phil
