Push that root underground and put some soil to cover it. These mini liners will either survive or die...by luck. Keep your fingers crossed.

remove it.. cut off the leaves so all you are left with is celery stalks that wont catch the wind ...

and pot it DEEP in a quart pot.. so it will hold itself upright ...

and ignore it but for water for 2 months ...

its will either root like crazy ... or rot.. lol ...

in fall .. repot at proper soil height ...

your problem is.. that you want to solve the problen in the same pot.. dont you think???

Ken, I don't mind potting it in another pot. It's just not completely severed, just about 90 percent. So you would just cut it off and stick it in another pot, deep enough to keep it upright?

Do you have a water feature?

You can get it to re-root in moving water. Cut off the foliage, rig something up so that just the lower part of the crown is in the water (where roots would come out). Within a month or two, it will have enough roots to plant.

No Water feature. Wish I did at this moment, though.

yeah.. get it out.. just in case it fails and rots.. you will still have the presumably good one ...

i am guessing here ...

but i do know the deep potting thing is done ... but the important thing.. is to get rid of the sails ... the big leaf surface ... so no matter what.. it stops flapping around in the pot ...

as i said.. kinda winging it here ... like the watering with ice cubes early in the season ... lol... how did that all work out????
