They were a day late but hopefully not a dollar short. Rob Mortko of Hostaguy sent me a very nice Sparkler and heuchie Sweet Tart. Casita Azul sent me a Cameo about the size of a walnut shell which had styrofoam packed all around it. I guess they were afraid it would blow away if I breathed on it. I planted it next to the 18" ceramic pot, which was too populated to take any more residents. They also sent a Ruby Mantle sedum, which was OK but nothing to brag about. And they sent me a heuchie Ginger Snap, which is very hard to find. It was OK, nothing to write home about. Hopefully it will start to grow when it settles in.

After I planted all these little guys, I shoved some big black plastic stakes into the ground all around them, to discourage them from digging out the newly planted plants. I also put some bits of fresh habanero pepper I had just chopped up as a further discouragement. If I thought they could read, I'd put up a rude sign addressed to the squirrels.
