| I have a good many plantaginea offspring, one of which is Fragrant King. It is the second one of the family to bloom. I'm counting Lederhosen as first, both of the Lederhosen I have are in full bloom now, lavender blooms, no fragrance discernable.
But I was surprised to have Fragrant King send up a scape this early in the season. Does any one else have a FKing doing this at the end of June-July? It sure moves the time line ahead from August-Sept for the plantaginea. I've looked closely for other scapes to appear, yet see none so far. Of course, it seems they can shoot up there in a matter of hours after some deep watering, so I will check again tomorrow. Many of my plantaginea are now gathered in a spot where they get more morning sun and some relief from the mid day and afternoon sun, which is a killer. Here is the Fragrant King:

| Moccasin, Sugar and Cream's first bloom opened today and plantaginea is sending up a scape. Guacamole is about finished with it's bloom. My second Sugar and Cream is sending up scapes, too. So, it's time for the fragrant ones for us in the South. bkay |

| My only fragrant one I noticed today even thinking about sending up flower scapes is 'Moonlight Sonata'. Karen |
