H. 'Tijuana Brass'

Among my new arrivals is a big brassy bold gold hosta named Tijuana Brass. Gesila is waiting for its pictures to come up, so here they are where you can find em, Gesila!

It is tall, but no stick required to keep it vertical. It got by with only the blue tape.

It *does* look like lettuce! Anyone remember the thread from last summer about the plant tagged Sum and Substance, but which looked like lettuce? I sure wish there were a ff up to that one.

I can just imagine what a beauty TJ Brass going to be when she unfurls.

I personally like golds, very much, and it will be nice to see this very corrugated crumpled leafed hosta take on that tough color.

If it was one of your favs, Ken, that scores extra points with me. It must have good features besides it vigorous good looks.

My little Bibb Lettuce by Stuart Asch was named for a salad leaf, so it won't be the first time a hosta is compared to food. I bet it tastes good too. :) The medium sized hosta is shown behind the orchid leaf.
