Esther I have no issues with sunburn on my 8 Striptease family hosta. That includes a YPDB obtained this spring just like you. In fact it is rather vigorous so far. My latest picture taken May 31 of the whole family. I'll go out today and take another one of YPDB for you to check out.

It would help if we could see a picture of the problem.

Rob, you have a valid point. My Flickr photos of these hosta when first uploaded had quite a number of views. Especially Erotica and Yellow PDB. I use the proper punctuation for the names like H. 'Erotica' but it happens. :)

Now I am guffawing and tears are running down my face! Sorry to highjack... it's just tickling my funny bone right now. I am not a hosta expert, just enjoying them fully right now in my zone, they're even in bloom. Sure are some lovelies to look at over here.

Luck with your sunburning issue. If you think it needs more shade, but you just wanna test it, try shading with a chair for a day and see what the results are? Just a suggestion. I'd hate to transplant when it's just now trying to rejuvenate back for the season.

Haha...Mocc, hopefully you are spreading just a bit of innocence and wholesomeness to some unsuspecting characters! I think I've mentioned this before, but an evangelical family down the street has a mature h. 'Striptease' but they re-named her 'Jezebel.' :)

Jadie, I think Jezebel is a great alternate name.
I know that Erotica might offend some but the plant is adorable. All you need do is change the "r" to an "x" and call it Exotica.

Esther was bothered by the racier names. She has lots of Orthodox Jews on her block. She was afraid they would be offended.

Esther herself is an Orthodox Jew and SHE is offended by those names. Not necessary to use "Oooo, I used a naughty word" to draw attention to these beauties.

I don't have YPDB, but Hanky Panky did bleach out two years in a row. So I moved to a location with less sun.

Maybe hosta growers should come up with better names?
