I would refrain from splitting it again.

In order to get really big Hostas should be left undisturbed. Especially slow growers like sagae.

When I unwrapped the plant it fell into two separate eyes. I then planted them near one another. I didn't really divide it so I don't think it mattered that I planted the two with some separation. I'm very pleased with the growth in its second year.
