'Serenity'

Jon 6a SE MA

Looking up the hill. Pagoda surrounded by 3 Wide Brim and 3 DeGroots Spire.

Edging with 9 Sempervirens (English Boxwood), 8 Mountain laurel (Carol) and 14 Minutemen,

Mountain laurel. 2 years old and grown quite a bit, but still small. In a couple of years they will have blooms that start off red and open up to white centers and pink /red edges.

Minuteman one each side of the Mountain Laurel

I start off small. The boxwood are 3 years old

Frances Williams flank the 'Grand' entrance.

Concrete bench, flanked with Patriots, Abracabra and Midnight hydrangea and view into neighbor's yard.

Closer view of the pagoda(s), Wide Brim and DeGroots Spires.

About 5 years ago it started with the bench which sat in the most desolated part of the back yard.

The view from the cast iron / wooden bench.

Whirlwind around the bird bath. The big green hosta are NOIDS that cannot be killed and grow like crazy. Driveway hosta.

Frances Williams scapes.

I think the name Serenity suits it well. It will grow into a very lush, colorful area in a few years. The big green NOIDS have to sent out to pasture and something like LIberty replacing them or something smaller as these and any other big hosta will overlap the paver edging and I have no more room to expand.

It is my most relaxing spot and I hope it was for you.

Jon
