Hi. Go to the Hosta Library and check out Ventricosa. That's the first hosta imported from the Orient, so don't get any older than that. Looks like a healthy plant you have there.

I believe the flowers are purple/lavender? Says it blooms in July, but not indicated in what location that is true. I got one late in the season, like October, so it was ready to go dormant. This year it emerged fairly early and is looking nice.

It looks more like Hyacinthina. Ventricosa,at least in my garden has wavy edged leaves. Phil

Phil, I have hyacinthia, and this has bigger leaves, which I did not give a reference to. Sorry. Mocc, I think you are probably right. I will go an measure leaves, count veins and see if there is a wavy edge. Thanks for the help, I know I get a little niggly when I cannot figure out who I have growing here. Going to test you guys more later, but will try to at least reference size!

If you get an answer, let me know. I have one that looks very similar that I've had for 15 or 20 years. I got it in a box at Sam's. I bought two boxes, one was labeled Elegans and the other was labeled Royal Standard. Neither is either.

I've posted it and not gotten an answer. However, it has not bloomed in the four years I've been on the forum. If it blooms, post it again. That might help.
