I like the flat boards trimming your edging. Makes a lot of sense to me.

Phil, that is a handsome bed for your Chinese Sunrise hostas and they sure look great! Your plant was huge when you brought it home and even that was deceiving. Those are very decent divisions you made. Talk about getting "a Big Bang out of your buck" - you surely did! Very nice indeed and I can still see the variegated margin. Have you taken a picture yet of the one you planted in the garden? It will make a nice addition. From what I remember, you don't have that many of this size, shape and colour?

Mine is still quite light but I've only had it a couple of weeks. It will darken soon enough I imagine. I've got it in quite a bit of sun but am vigilant for scorches on the edges ... thin leaf. It's size could pass for one of your divisions, lol. I like it. It is one of those "quieter" hostas. :-)

Jo,these plants are going to stay here as edgers. There are some others planted behind them,but not visible in the pic. My other one is a bigger clump,in the garden,but no pic of it yet. It has taken hold well,though! Phil
