It defrosted....sorry ;-).....we were all thinking it. Instability of hosta gives us sports, sometimes they revert back or even sport to something else.

Funny, Paul!! So do I now have a Blue Mouse Ears?

It looks like Blue Mouse Ears to me.

However, strictly speaking, it cannot revert to Blue Mouse Ears. It can only revert to Royal Mouse Ears, from which it sported. It's not Royal Mouse Ears, therefore it's considered a sport. (Even if Royal Mouse Ears is a sport of Blue Mouse Ears.) At least, that's the way it was explained to me.

It still looks like Blue Mouse Ears to me.
