Just returned from the annual Hosta Sale in Innerkip (10 minutes from home).

==>>> ARE YOU SERIOUS ... you have a hosta haven ... TEN FREAKIN MINUTES FROM HOME ...

and you visit it ONCE A YEAR????

of course.. if you buy 29 at a shot.. i understand why you dont go more frequently .. lol

I have heard about that sale and contemplated long and hard about going. I decided I needed to make more room in my gardens first especially since it would be impossible to just get a few. (But it was so, so hard to decide not to go!)

I had the pleasure of visiting their garden last year. So I know you got great plants and a good deal! I am envious! Were there a lot of people there for the sale? I suppose you were there bright and early.

They only hold this sale 1 day a year (the first Saturday in June, I think), otherwise I'd be there every week! It's a private home - with fantastic huge hosta gardens, really amazing specimens. It's a mad frenzy, pretty much grab and go! Supposed to start at 8 am but people start arriving really early and by 7 am they're already loading up their cars! I got there at 7 am this time so got the pick of the crop. Missed out on Niagara Falls and a couple of others on my wish list by mere seconds. If you turn your back on a hosta you're contemplating, BOOM, it's gone, you gotta be quick!

I know there were over 100 varieties going for $5.......I just couldn't justify the 4 hour drive this year.

That's quite a haul. Sounds like a place I'd like to go next year. Where in Innerkip is the sale? I could use more hostas.

There's nothing like walking into the backyard of Bill & Bonnie! Simply incredible. Great hosta people, too.

I suppose I wish my little Back40 garden would one day turn into something incredible, and folks will know it and come that one special day each year, to view and maybe I will have some creations of my own, to share.

WOW! 29 hostas in the same day. That beats my record of 25! You have a wonderful list and you got them all at a GREAT price.

Look forward to watching them grow. Post some pictures once you get them planted.
