take two out of the pot ... and plant elsewhere ..

there should be hundreds of posts about growing in pots ...

the only real issue is what to do with them for winter ... and we can help you with that in late fall ..

stay away from all fert after 9/1 ...

and insure there is a drain hole ..

that ought to get you thru to 9/1

Hm, I guess they are going for a mixed container planting sort of thing there, but I have to say that doesn't appeal to me. I don't even like my hostas to crowd each other in the garden and with HVX out there, do all I can to not have roots intermingle. I guess you could try to separate them like Ken said, but do so carefully so as to try not to break roots because of HVX again.
