Just had to show you.Pictures don't do it justice. It's a Dicksonia Antartica or Australian Tree fern.The fronds are about 2 yards across.

When I ordered it from the Netherlands,I said to give me a nice one.They did! I think I got the size up from what I ordered. Very happy,very architectural.

The bed it is in is all new Hostas,Queen of the seas,Marilyn Monroe,Lakeside Shore Master,Guacamole and a few others.Hopefully it will look fabulous when they mature in a few years.

I am going to attempt to overwinter it on a tereace. It.It can take to -12C.

The grass is all ratty,waiting for Daffs and tulips to die back so I can clean up lawn area.
It looks much better in person.

There are beds all around the perimeter of the yard.

Am off to the states in a week,I planed my trip around when the hostas were growing can you believe it? Hope to see lots of the American hostas.

in full sun??? ... are you really that close to the north pole??? .. the sun that weak???

i think you missed the crown of the plant by a foot or so .. lol .. just a joke.. i dont ferns from a hole in the ground ...

where will you be in the states?? ... do you have your list of places all set???

It's just afternoon sun,only about an hour.I will be in Ohio and Michigan and NYC.

Maybe I can swing near your neck of the woods.? I'll be visiting my sis in Temperance.

Actually the top of the woody trunk is called the crown as well.hahaah

Looks like it can compete with an Empress Wu for size. Huge! Do you have to bring it inside for winter or is it hardy

Now that tree makes your urn look normal sized. Perfect together. Your garden is making a big leap forward. I recall the photos you showed ... late 2012? ... of your beginnings and the fence looked so barren. Not anymore!

You made a huge difference in the environment of your neighborhood when you proposed a garden. My hat is off to you. Enjoy your trip.
