I also received LCC as a Mother's Day gift. It had three leaves sort of looking ratty, very similar to yours. I couldn't stand it and ripped them off as the pot seemed to be crowded with the plant with many more leaves scrambling to unfurl.

This first pic has a lower right leaf spotted - pic taken May 22/14. I also removed a margin-blemished leaf that was definitely sun scorch. Now that I have it in some morning sun, rest of day in bright shade it is doing better.

Here it is from earlier today...looking much better even though another leaf is showing margin burn a bit.

I'm watching this one and keeping it in its pot for a little while. It seems to have good substance but the white centre may be more sensitive to downpour, then drying in hot sun, which happened here the once where it melted. It's currently in the Observatory! (Outside the kitchen sliding door, on the deck/balcony, lol)

If you have enough leaves will you snap it off, Beverly? I must say I like the plant's colours much better as each day passes. Hope yours settles in nicely in its new home. Today's appearance of LCC...

Thanks JoJo. I think I will try that. We didn't notice any problem at the plant sale. There are new leaves starting at the bottom and I don't mind having a smaller plant. Here is a picture of the stem.

It's too early for nems to show in Minnesota also Ontario. Wait till August. The pictures just show burn out from sun.

Phew, I'm glad. We haven't had 'em and don't want 'em. I shall find a spot with a little more shade so mind can grow to look like this one I saw in a AHS garden last week.

you dont mention if it was a cut division potted for sale ...

if so.. that insult to the root mass ... caused the melting noted above ... in other words.. transplant shock

steve was spot on ... nems are found in august.. which this late year... might be sept up in your area ...
