Some lawmakers in Texas just tried to outlaw taking pictures of private property via a drone. I'm not sure if it passed or not, but I sure hope so.

2 years ago I bought a radio-controlled helicopter with a camera built-in at ToysRUs for less than $50. I was not bigger than a fist, plus the rotor. We flew it inside the house. So what's the big deal about drones, you can buy them for $50 for years. I planned to fly it up the big pine to see what to cut off, but never did it. Then my folks put it somewhere and we do not know where it is now. Bernd

You guys are great. Way back 15 years ago, I was all into mounting a small camera on a kite. There was a website that showed the footage from the kite's eye view. I was fascinated, I'm into electronics, sad to say. But also into privacy and the right thereto.

My former employer years ago now, was into using satellites for diagnosing problems with forests, disease showing up in sensitive camera lens or sampling equipment. It was motivated by saving their investment and serving the economic needs of the country. I don't think environmentalism was very high up the list.

One thing disturbing about privacy rights these days. We are giving them away every day on social networks.
