Oh? I'd say that's plenty good enough reason to buy a hosta, Hostanista. ; )

I believe I read some where that it was difficult to grow and that it was likely to draw string!

You know what? I read the same thing - ugly drawstring, hard to grow, etc. I bought one anyway. Liked the look. I got mine last year and this pic is from June 2013. Actually, its the hosta I have been watching the most this year. I find it intriguing.

Here's mine too. I bought it first and then read the part about drawstring. I like it way better than my other drawstring purchase which is St Elmo's Fire. I guess because Snow Cap is so bumpled the drawstring doesn't show as much as on a smooth leafed plant?

Well there you go, learned something new again in this forum! Never heard about the drawstring effect before and according to Rawson's list of 20 or so hostas affected, Snow Cap isn't one of them. Maybe the list needs updating? I also have Brim Cup and St. Elmo's Fire from that list but they've never exhibited the dreaded drawstring. I just thought Snow Cap was supposed to look puckered like that. Keeping it.

Mine had drawstring, so I turfed it. It just got uglier each year I grew it.
Life is too short to grow ugly hosta.

But the proof is in the pudding, so keep us informed about how it grows.
