Have I named these correctly?

Hello hoping for some more guidance on naming my NOIDS. Do you think that I have them right? All but the last are divisions from other gardens. 3-5 years and get half day full sun half day part sun. The last I can't remember where or when I bought this but it lives in a mostly shaded spot.

Fortunie Albopicta ?

Fortunei Aureo Marginata?

Clovelly? piecrust?

Francis Williams that has not developed its wrinkles?

Hmmm...I believe the correct spellings are Fortunei Albopicta, Fortunei Aureomarginata, and Frances Williams. Nice looking hostas there!

Sure does look like Clovelly. Mine doesn't have as large leaves, but the hosta data base says the can get 9" x11", so you've got my vote for that name.

Your FrancEs (note the E) Williams doesn't have a measure to judge the size of the leaves. Depends how old it is, but it could also be Olive Bailey Langdon which doesn't get Spring dessication on the edges, and I don't see that in your pic.

as in.. one would not expect to find it.. in a mature state.. at 10 or 20 years old???

whats the old one.. that is satiny green.. and rippled like that ... carp... i can see it in the garden.. but havent walked by it in years ...... old species type ... sterile.... anyone???

i am sure.. as soon as i turn off the computer.. it will come to me.. and then i will forget.. hours later.. when i come back to the machine... lol ...

Bing! Ken you are probably right. Read "probably" here. Are you thinking of ventricossa? ;-)

I'm taking back my vote and casting one instead for the wavy edged Ventricossa. Clovelly isn't "really, really new" I got mine in 2008, but it holds it's leaves more horizontally than the pic above shows.

the rest of the names.. on this posters list.. are 40 to 50 year old names ... hence my thought.. where in the world would they get a 4 year old named .. w/o buying as a named hosta ..

yes.. ventricosa.... move the leaves in the sun.. they look like satin ... yes???? .. almost viridescent .... or is it iridescent??/... lol.. satiny...

Smiles thanks folks, Ken your right this hosta is not a new variety, and ventricossa fits very well. Names are now recorded with photos, spelling corrected :) 88% named yup I did the math. Well the one good thing about searching for ID means Iam looking at lots and lots of hosta's I don't have. My wish list is getting longer everyday. Thanks again
