Hosta 'Hammered Gold'

Thanks to all who took part in the effort to find a name for this new hosta. There were so many unique and creative recommendations that it was hard to decide which name was best. The winner is MadPlanter1 from Nebraska who came up with 'Hammered Gold'. Send me an email, MadPlanter, with your mailing address. Whenever this beauty gets large enough to divide, you will receive the first eye to leave my garden (but that may be a few years). Thank you!

Wheee! (although that's another hosta). I got a big charge out of seeing my name on the label. I think the name fits - it looks like a piece of Celtic or Arts and Crafts work.

Congratulations to MadPlanter and to Don for dealing with all those name choices. I like Hammered Gold. It has a strong vibe going on, and the name suits it well. I can see the peen marks on it as a handmade work of art.

I'll add it to my WISH LIST for my 80th birthday. That is not as far away as it once was. :)
