Let's see the Streakers.

It seems all the most expensive Hostas are streaked.

I have one "Kaleidochrome" (pictured)

I got it from a roadside seller in Prince Edward County last August.

He said he'd had it potted for 3 years and it had remained stable.

Since this is now a 4th year plant and is still a single eye, I am going to assume it's slow growing...

He had quite a hosta collection on his large property and many for sale.

All were 15 bucks a plant regardless of variety or size.

Since 20 bucks is my limit for a single eye plant, (self imposed) this will likely be my only true streaker.

(I have Korean Snow, but it's not really that streaky)

Let's see your streakers.... (Not you streaking..._;)

Here is Stargate, a fragrant streaker.

Your Kaleidochrome is a beautiful hosta.

    That's a nice collection Steve.

    I hate rabbits.

Lots of bullet munching this year in my garden too.

This is a streaker I got from Ken,when I visited him last year. I just call it Kens Streaker, because its heritage is unknown to me. This is the first year to come up in my garden. Phil

Here is Sally and Bob, 60-some inches across. Also one of its babies planted last year.

Steve, that's the first real Fascination in a garden I know of. Thanks for showing it. I'd ordered it from Wade, but it did not come. I like all the offspring from Fascination, it would be a joy to have such a plant.

Never heard of Sally & Bob, but it is throwing streakers too? Wow, must be a good fertile plant.

NICE thread, very thought provoking. I'm glad I stumbled into a Powder Keg this year. :)

Jimr66, I am very new to the Galaxy, and any streaked plant to be sure. The Galaxy does however look exactly the same color and texture as when I planted it last year...

Here is H. 'Confused Angel'. I've only had it for two weeks (two leaves at time of purchase) but in that time it has put out two more leaves, the last one not fully unfurled. Lots of promise judging by the pics above. :-)

Mocc.....Sally and Bob is the product of William Lachman x Fascination, a rare cross of two streakers. As for being fertile, this S and B produced more than 100 pods last year

ESox, I appreciate the information about Sally and Bob. I have wanted both Wm Lachman AND Fascination for a while now. They are hard to find, hard to get. Sounds like S&B with 100 pods has inherited all the fertility of both parents. So cool. Now I must find a S&B if I cannot find either parent. Thanks.

Mocc....I think Sally and Bob is better than either of its parents.

Wow, this thread has had many more unique plants than I guessed it would.

sung to the old song "THE STREAK"

Oh yes they called them the streaks..
    boogie da boogie da
In the ground three years ... looks like two weeks...
    boogie da boogie da
They're the coolest thing you've seen,
    Until they go back green..
At least thats my Philosophy !
