My experience is also that it is very slow growing. I've had mine for 5 years and it's only a few eyes.

Mine died the first winter. I usually lose only less than 1% per year.

I just got mine this year. The green coloring is wonderfully deep/dark and the leaves are as thick (to my fingers) as Rhino Hide. Super Substance.

I'm willing to wait...it means I won't have to up-pot it so quickly.

I've had CS for a while. It's not the fastest grower, but does well. The clump in half day sun grew faster. It put out a green eye that grows like mad and is tough as nails. Too bad it's very plain, lost all the twist of the original.

Babka, yours its twice the size of mine in its second year. It gets morning sun, so it should do well. I planted a tiny Touch of Class next to it from the same order, and that is gorgeous. Its about four times the size it was last year. So, the spot should be good, but I think I'll move it anyways.

Maybe its just a bum plant.

Jamie- You may be right about having just a bum plant. That happens. Or was yours a very small tc to begin with? Mine has 3 eyes, each almost 1/2" thick at the crown and came from Hallsons just a little over a month ago, 3rd year field grown plant.
