Here's a recent picture of one of my backyard shady beds. Hostas visible in the picture are Gold Standard, Love Pat, Regal Splendor, Thunder Bolt and Frances Williams. "Tree trunks" are crape myrtles. Holly hedge in the back. Other shrubs are native hydrangea, sweet spire and pieris. Other plants are Francesca primrose, solomons' seal, astilbe, heuchera, various ferns, impatiens, and an ever growing forest of begonia grandis that I'm beginning to think is a weed.
