Mine looks a lot lighter this year.
Here's mine. I got it in May 2010 so it ranks with Mama plantaginea as the oldest in my garden, first order of hosta ever.Picture taken in May. Very tough substance. It hangs on at the end of the season too, looking like a mile of rough road.

Jenna, hope you keep coming back to post or even just to read. You must have mature hosta in your beds.
In no photo do I see a single slug bite. This is one tough hosta.
Mine took forever to unfurl this year. It's come a long way since I got it in 2011:
