We went to the Greater Ozarks Hosta Society meeting today to hear Rob Mortko of Made in the Shade give a talk on hosta growing. Of course he had hostas to sell, (well, maybe I might have preordered a few too) anc we came home with a small selection. Left to right, clockwise, On Stage, Blue Blazes, Lakeside Spellbiinder, Sleeping Beauty, and Lakeside Kaleidescope.

Hey Sandy, so pleased to see you back among us. Lovely hosta too. I like the deep blue. Winners every one.

How are the woods doing? Did they fare well emerging this spring?

Thanks, Moc! The woods gardens are coming back pretty well, with the exception of a few that got frozen in late April, and a few that are still struggling to come back after the drought of 2012, the hostas are looking pretty good.

We lost a few, no more than half a dozen, and now look, I'm buying more. Got several from LOTG last fall and quite a few more this spring from the nursery where I work, so spaces are getting filled up.

We have spent the last week limbing up trees and cutting out some small ones. It's amazing how fast the trees have grown and how dark and shady it's gotten out there. We need to let a lot more light in!

Great selections. Only have Sleeping Beauty, and it is a beauty.
I think I need some of those too!
