Here's one of the few, if not only, full leaves on it.

I think it's one of those freakish winter damage incidents. Heaven knows there have been so many strange ones.

I actually thought I would get no leaves on one of mine but when it finally started, it produced normal leaves, like some on yours. If you toss it, you might regret it later. Give it time is the key. There are a lot of us dealing with strange looking leaves. My Guacamole is still shy about coming out of his ugly duckling phase but I know he will appear whole again - two new leaves are normal already with promise of more. :-). Hang in there!

Thank you Jo. I think I spooked myself with reading on viruses today! This was a bad winter and this area of the yard is also partially exposed on a retaining wall, so heaven knows it probably endured now cold than it should have in this area. Ugly duckling phase, indeed. :)
I'll be patient.

I agree, viruses are a reality I don't ever want to have to face! Brutal winters and lost hostas I'll take any day over viruses!

I only commented on the half/distorted leaves. If there is anything else going on, someone keener will spot it but try not to worry. :-)
