Your mom has some great hosta, and if you recently planted those, it doesn't look like they skipped a beat, just kept on growing.

You probably are aware how big each one of those gets, right?
That is a mighty tight little circle around your tree. Also, what kind of tree is it? A sapling young tree or something older like a redbud with a smaller mature diameter trunk? Keep an eye on what happens, because you may need to move those hosta out at least two more feet.

I'm not sure what the variety of those hosta might be. It sort of looks like a mature H. 'Elegans.' but then I'm not that familiar with mature hosta. My garden is about 2 years old, and that is as long as I've grown hosta as well.

If you happen to have a picture of the clump these were divided from, that could help identify the plants.

Thank you. These hostas are under a oak tree that been there since I moved in my house 6 years ago. My mom is moving and gave them to me. I'm planning on moving some of them in the fall.
