self watering pots

I know there are lots of you that grow all of your hostas in pots and I saw these pots and bought them. Very simple concept, there is a water reservoir in the bottom and a piece of material that comes to meet the medium and the water is absorbed as needed. Apparently this is good for up to two weeks depending on the weather.

The shape of these pots is more lateral which is better suited for hostas. They aren't huge but they could certainly get a few started for a couple of years.

Plus, you have the option to keep it as a hanging basket or take off the hanger but you can still put it back on later, if you change your mind - taking it off doesn't break it.

I only planted mine yesterday so I don't know how effective they are. In photo #2 there is a 1g pot in the background to size reference. What do you think?
