Here's my Gunsmoke. It got bombarded with small twigs in a windstorm and got its leaves torn, but looks pretty good anyway. This was planted just last fall, it is a good grower. I like it!

I had to jump in with my opinion about this one, too! I like it--it's not a stand-alone hosta but I think it makes a wonderful contrast to other more showy ones! Because it is an early riser for me, I have to be vigilant with the slug control, despite it's medium thick texture! I figure those slugs are probably desperate for a meal after a long winter!

This is an older pic and you should have seen it before I had to dig it out to move to our new place! But then, I'm partial to bluish wavy edged hosta!

Thanks to both of you. Every time I go to the G's on the HL, I look at Gunsmoke and wonder if it really looks that nice. It's a good looking hosta.

It's supposed to get huge, with those great textured leaves. I have it as a background along with Neat n Tidy, plantaginea, Nigrescens with medium size varicolored hostas in front of it. It;s a new bed so it will be a while before it really shows its stuff!
