My copy of 'Ann Kulpa' is about 5 years old and is larger than what they describe in the database. I was worried about the white-centered phenotype when I bought it since I had previously killed 2,3, or 4 copies of 'Sea Thunder'. I placed mine in an area of my garden that receives mainly indirectly light.....or perhaps 30 minutes or one hour of morning and afternoon sun. Ann Kulpa makes a nice mound and has nice substance. Definately passes the eye-ball test in my garden.

mbug, mine's on it's third year and no leap yet. Mine is still in an 8" pot. It may be one of those that doesn't care for Texas. The first year, it had brown crinkly leaves, Last year, the cut worms got it. This year, I went out of town and my waterer didn't get "every day" to really mean every day. So, it's brown and crinkly again.

It's probably 12" across.

I thought long and hard before I finally decided to purchase Ann Kulpa.

Having heard rumors that she tended to be fussy I was hesitant, especially since it would be yet another white centered leaf in my collection.

But then I saw a very mature specimen at Hidden Lake in Michigan and that was all she wrote. :) Call me a sucker for white middles, but there is just something about them I canâÂÂt resist.

Here are the three plantings from Hidden Lake. They were sighted in high shade. From what I could tell they received morning sun and then shade for the afternoon. Absolutely Stunning !

Here's mine, year 3. It gets nothing but indirect light, and it seems quite happy to me... It has become one of my favorites.

Sorry for the 'busy' picture, but can't find single for this one...AK is sitting almost on top of the light green moss, off centre.

Bought last year so it's not even a year old yet and has doubled in size, I kid you not.

It is sited in dappled/filtered sunlight with late afternoon direct sun. Aside from slug/grasshopper bites, it's thriving with great colour. I see a relocation of something to allow more room for this one.
