Happy Canada Day to all you guys across the northern border.
May we always be friendly nations same as we are friendly people.

Hot? Oh yeah. I made the rounds of all the bird baths refreshing the water, and refilling the feeders. Laid out some watermelon for the turtle beneath our pirogue. It's summertime in the northern hemisphere. The oscillating sprinkler is going in the edge of the trees and birds are darting in and out, bathing on the splashing leaves. Our week of rain fizzled out to nothing, so back to the hose, eh....

Hope all of you Canucks enjoy the day, We'll be celebrating on the 4th beside the river at the Alba Club, operating for 110 years. Live oaks, swaying spanish moss, palmettos and pines, as close to the old days as it can get.

Yeah, happy Canada day! In true Nova Scotia fashion, spent the weekend being pummelled by unrelenting rain and wind in a tiny cottage on the Mira River. Warmed up today just in time for the drive home.

Yes that is the view from our west veranda. We are very fortunate to live in this beautiful area. It is overlooking the Shuswap Lake in the Okanagan valley. We are 325 miles from both Vancouver and Calgary , Also 155 miles from our American friends in Washington. Best of all we can grow hosta in a shady mature back yard. Sorry to hear there is rains in Norva Scotia but then again it is making my fall order from Fundy;s Beauties and grow nice and healthy .
