I think they are both Paul's Glory. Could be a difference in age, and growing conditions, or it could be different TC batches.

My 3 "Paul's Glory" look like the one on the left. They were bought at Home Depot 4 years ago. They look like my 3 15 year old 'Gold Standard'. As I wrote in another thread, yesterday I saw clumps of the real PG, and there is more blue-green border and the center is more greenish. So I will donate my PGs. Bernd

Bernd, it was your earlier post that made me look again at my so-called Paul's Glory. It was then that I wondered about why the two above were looking different even though I got them last year and they are both in pots next to each other. It made me wonder whether they could both be Paul's Glory.

The reason I purchased the two pictured above is because I love the three year old one that I have. And I wanted more of it. But my three year old one was labelled Paul's Glory, and it came from a big box store. Now I know what kinds of things I can expect from the big box store, but I didn't at that time. So maybe it was not correctly named? Now I am really confused. Here is the one I love that was named Paul's Glory of which I wanted more of!

Do you think my three year old "Paul's Glory" is really a Paul's Glory?

Steve: it sure is interesting how hosta can look so different. Thanks for your thoughts. I will pay more attention to these two young hostas next year right at the beginning of the season. I think that that may also help in identification. Do you have any thoughts about my three year old Paul's Glory?

if the center goes to parchment.. then it looks like gold standard to me..
