Congratulations, Bragu. That is a good looking leaf there. It had a scape too, but tall things are hard to get into a single picture frame.

Congrats, Bragu!! Woohoo! But you should have received the red ribbon on the leaf alone...look at those ruffles and that crisp yellow margin, ...but it was a flower contest, right? LL looks like a beauty...care to post a pic of entire plant with flower scapes, if possible??

Congratulations! It is always good to have good hostas, are so satisfying!
I just planted all my new hostas and seedlings, but that h.'Leading Lady' leaf looks so good, I should order one.

Which others were you in competition with, Dave? I see a Guardian Angel leaf to the right (?maybe?).

Nothing wrong with Whirlwind, in my opinion, but your LL leaf is pretty clearly SMOKING the competition, (Again, in my opinion) so looks like they made the right choices. : )

Congrats! I am entering the county fair next week. I hope can enter a leaf as nice as yours.

Also entered a squash casserole leaf and flower as well as Elegans . Third went to a sport of whirlwind. Next year I need to grab leaves from garden in June so they can be perfect ( w/o blems)

hosta leaves keep very well in a vase with water. try it. you will be amazed

Don't think I'll ever be entering a leaf contest. Where would be the nearest hosta contest from here? Birmingham? heheheh.
