Yes, remove it. You can enable people to send you an e-mail from your web page if you wish.

There are robot programs that scan the internet looking for "@" e-mail addresses to compile and sell to advertisers.

You do not have to have your email displayed after your username to be able to have emails sent directly to your email address. For example, if you click on my name, it will bring you to the member page. You will see "send me an email." If you click that to send me an email, you will not see my email address. When I receive an email, I can then decide whether I want to reply and at the point my email address will be revealed. I cannot say how I actually got it to work this way, but it must be in the way you set up your gardenweb account. You can probably change yours.

Try clicking on "your profile" on the top right hand side. It may be the part on your member page that says "show my email address to." For me, I have it set on "member."
