My War Paint is 4 years old, and this is the first year it showed much variegation at all. I assumed it might be because of the amount of sun it received (or didn't - it's in fairly deep shade), or because it was potted. But it really showed out this year.

I kind of expected the variegation to take a while and knew WP would turn all green. What concerns me is the lack of a rippled edge. I see yours at least ripples. Mine is just a plain green hosta. Oh, well, it can always be replaced.

Rippled edges are another thing which takes time to deveop in some hosta. I got my WarPaint in June, so cannot offer much of an opinion. Just a picture of what is here.

Is the plant on the left a Niagara Falls, Mocc, or are they War Paint from two different sources?

War paint shows the variegation in early spring and gradually turns quite green but still not as green as yours. I have a feeling it may be Niagara Falls you have but in turn is a real beauty and I call my War Paint my Niagara look alike. This picture of War Paint was a first year plant and now have tripled it's size but it should have looked kind of like this for you

This is a young picture of Niagara Falls and think it resembles this one. It has grown considerable too since then

I just got that plant and I hope it is not Niagara Falls. I have one of those already.
