AHS Open Garden Tours - Rock Gardens

I had conversed a number of times with Rick (countrygarden01) and made it point to visit. He has a landscaping and nursery business about 25min into WI off 94 and had seen a few picks he has posted - knew the gardens would be very nice.

Fairly flat area with raised berms for gardening makes attractive and great for viewing. Many past their glory farm implements are featured in the gardens. Hope Rick will add some comments or pics.

Well that's the last one. If you didn't attend and live close by, hope you got the juices going for future tours. Cost was reasonable and gardens and people were fantastic. Wish I had taken more people pics - but then I always wish I had done more.

People have posted their thanks in the different threads - so I'll answer here, your all very welcome and I'm happy to share these glimpses with you. The gardens were all much nicer than the pics can show. The efforts and love these gardeners shared by opening their gardens did not go unappreciated.

I have a couple more Convention postings in me - 1st timer observations and HVX Update from Keynote Speaker Dr Ben Lockhart I just need to gather my thoughts.

You have done a wonderful job with all the postings. The last AHS Convention I attended was in 2006 in Phily, now thanks to you, looks like next year maybe in the plan.

I'm enjoying the photos also, even though I did attend the convention and have my own photos to organize and rename!
I'm also thinking to myself how I should have taken more photos, but then I wouldn't have had the time to enjoy the garden views.
I and my friend were 1st timers also, so I would really enjoy you starting up a thread about this.

Hello to everyone,
Paul, thankyou so much for your time and effort!!! It was great to meet you in person. You definetly have talent w/ photos also. It is not easy to capture "gardens" in bright light.
Invitation: I will be around over the weekend 10:00-7:00, Sunday 10:00-2:30ish, should anyone want to venture out. A chance to view many new and rare varieties. Located 25 minutes from the Wisconsin-Minnesota border. The nursery is also impressive for size, selection, and age. There are no schedules here so come relax and enjoy.

Thanks for making my weekend, Paul! (Obviously didn't do much - too hot). The pics are so appreciated - I wanted so badly to go to the convention but other commitments prevailed. Minneapolis is my home town and of course traveling up there often takes us so close to the Rock Gardens which I had no clue even existed. You did a fabulous job with these!

I only have a few varieties but I've just decided to become a hostaholic. I have many gardens that are turning into shade gardens and I'm excited to get started.
I'm from Neenah and look forward to all of the suggestions for places to go shopping.
