Gramma Jan, his family contacted the Hosta Forum to tell us that his time is very short due to metastasized prostate cancer. I'm sorry.

Got mine mailed! Bumping this so others will notice and send cards, too! I'm not one who is great
at sending cards, (wish I were) so I got on this immediately lest I put it off and forget--as usual!!!

I got my card in the mail but he probably won't get it until Monday or Tuesday, and alas! The only garden photo I had handy was of a butterfly on a lantana, not a hosta.

But it is more important to be fast now than to be perfect, so even if you don't have a proper birthday card in the house, just drop him a note on whatever you've got. I put $1.25 US postage on mine which was probably overkill even with the enclosed photo, but I wanted it to get there.

Thank you so much for posting the address. I just got my card in the mail today. Even though it will be late, I want to honor Papou any way I can.

I enclosed a copy of "The Night Before a Hosta Christmas" poem and these two pictures.

I want Papou and his family to know he will live on in my heart and in my garden.

Got my card in the mail today too. The card had stylized flowers, so I had to collage a hosta in with them. Sorry, it was a Montana Aureonebulosa, sort of the reverse of Papou's Liberty. However, I did plant Liberty this spring and I will think of you everytime I see it Papou. What a treat to have "rubbed shoulders" with such a great "hostalist." Yes, I am from the medical field. Hospitalist is a physician who does all his/her work in the hospital. Is there such a word in the hosta world, meaning one who works in/with the hostas? If not, maybe there should be, in your honor, Papou.
