I read Don's thread and want to revisit 2 of my noids. I've had these for 15+ years. They came in a box from Sam's Club. One was labeled Elegans and the other was labeled Royal Standard.

It has been suggested that each is Hyacinthia. Is that possible?

This one blooms early. It blooms an almost white flower by about May 15 on incredibly long scapes, as much as 36" (I have no photo of flower). It's incredibly slow. I admit to many years of inadequate fertilizer, but I think it's still really slow.

This is the other one. I don't remember it ever blooming. I'm sure it hasn't bloomed in the last 5 years. It's kind of blue. It never gets the melted wax look that I have on the real Elegans.

Aug 10 This is how it reacts to heat. It lives in pretty full shade after the trees leaf out.
