| Hard to find this one. I bought this about ten years ago at the same time and place as Color Glory and On Stage. They are all so close - I can tell the difference between On Stage and Color Glory (I think) because OS has lavender flowers, is now blooming, CG has white and not blooming yet. But I know MK is out there somewhere. Going crazy trying to find lost IDs. Have also looked through a few mail orders. Anyone?
Thanks for any help,

Hard to say since no pic. I don't think that'd be it though - H. Montana is a different whatchamacallit from Longissima. (Sorry I'm not being botanically correct here)...but maybe the seller's vendor had them ID'd incorrectly. I'm still searching....very hard to find pix. Westy

The Hostapedia reports that "Kinkaku" or "H. montana Kinkaku" has a gold center with a green margin. The center becomes chartreuse unless the plant is sited in bright light. Zilis says it is similar to "Choko Nishiki" which, he says, has been marketed in the U.S. as "On Stage". Does anyone grow both "Kinkaku" and "On Stage"? Are they identical plants? The center of my On Stage" is turning green now. It receives only morning sun. Mark

OK I knew there was something fishy about the way these plants are identified. I guess I need to break down and buy the Hostapedia. I always suspected OS and m. Kinkaku were one and the same - there is absolutely NO difference. They are both sited in shade - not dappled, not deep, but shade. In fact, they are three feet apart and are truly identical. I've seen Choko Nishiki in another garden and thought it was ID'd wrong! I now know how to label this plant. Thanks, Mark. Westy

there is nothing fishy about it.. they are all the same plant ... [and logissima is grass like.. and has nothing to do with it ...] it used to be so fun.. paying 3 times for the same plant ... the problem with this one.. of course.. is that it takes about 150 years for it to get to maturity.. before you confirm they all look the same.. lol ... ken
